Since their introduction to the market in 2010,Talon® igniters have become the Industry Standard for non-pyrogen igniters. It is no wonder that many of the factories overseas have since begun to produce "clip style" igniters being sold as "Talons". These "Talon-style" igniters DO NOT have the Talon® proprietary alloy element, the "heart" of the igniter plus our proprietary WHITE head is completely biodegradable, making site cleanup easier with less environmental impact. Don't settle for imitations!
INSTRUCTIONS FOR TALON® SAFETY IGNITORS
The invention of Talon® safety igniters is the newest big innovation in fireworks display for consumer enthusiasts. Electrical firing is safer than traditional hand firing. Talon® igniters make use of a momentary current conveyance through a resistance wire element to heat the Tungsten alloy element to *white hot* and thereby light fuse of any type. Also, since they do not contain any pyrotechnic material, they can be purchased, shipped, possessed and stored with no limitations.
Use:
Simply clip the igniter to the fuse and secure with tape for strain relief. No need to ?thread? under the element, or squeeze after attaching. Simply clip the igniter on to the fuse. Cellophane or other tape can be used to secure the igniter as a strain relief. Hints: The closer to the firework piece the igniter is clipped, the less delay between firing and ignition. When setting up dual fronts to light simultaneously on both sides of a display, use our SUPER FAST Time fuse to connect the two sides then clip the Talon® igniter in the middle of the connection. One cue will both sides simultaneously!
Specifications:
1. Resistance: 2.5±1Ω
2. All fire rating: 12±3v @ >1A
3. Maximum safety fuse diameter: ≤ ȼ3.2mm
4. Shelf life: 3-5 years
Notes:
1. Talon® igniters are compatible with systems from 6-48V, however for systems from 6-12v two to three Talon® igniters may be connected in PARALLEL with 5M or less of cabling from receiver to igniter head. On higher voltage systems this quantity can be increased.
2. If the green (Visco) fuse on the piece is greater than 3.2mm or if the waterproof coating of the fuse is too thick, the fuse may not take fire. In this case, fold or “backspin” the fuse to expose the powder core and clip the igniter to the exposed area.
3. Talon® igniters may not fire if exposed to rain or other extreme moisture.
Talon® is a trademark of Uncle Sam's Fireworks City, Inc.
