These are the same rugged brass and nylon star plates that are used in the factories. A star plate greatly speeds up the star-making process. Ususlly this item is too pricey for most people to buy and too complicated to fabricate.
This affordable tool will fit your budget and ramp your star-making up to production line speed!
To use:
- The lower part of the star plate is filled with comp then the top plate with the pins is lowered into the holes in the bottom plate to compress the comp.
- Most often, the plates are rocked back and forth on the working surface to allow the weight of the top pin plate to do the work of compression.
- Afterward, the plates are squeezed together to eject the stars.
- Note: The star plates are made individually by hand, therefore the plates are not interchangable.
- The upper plate of each one exactly matches its' corresponding lower plate.
- Each set is marked on one side with matching numbers, light "scores" or a dent
- Pins may need to be sanded before first use to ensure smooth operation.
